Casa Loma College is proud to announce that our Van Nuys campus has been named a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) for 2022, a designation from the U.S. Department of Education that recognizes accredited, degree-granting higher education institutions with 25 percent or more total undergraduate Hispanic and Latinx student enrollment.
“This recognition is a true honor,” said Scott Sand, President of Casa Loma College. “We’ve always been proud of our commitment to serving the Latinx community and offering the kinds of programs and support services that make a real impact for our students. With this designation, we have the opportunity to take that support even further, including applying for federal funds and grants set aside for minority-serving institutions. We are looking forward to the future of CLC as we continue to grow and expand our community outreach.”
Casa Loma College has been offering health education and training in the Greater San Fernando Valley area for almost 60 years. Nationally, Hispanic-Serving Institutions represent 18 percent of all colleges and universities yet enroll 67 percent of all Hispanic and Latinx undergraduates.
