Financial Aid Code of Conduct

Casa Loma College expects each member of the staff of the Financial Aid Office to maintain exemplary standards of professional conduct in all aspects of carrying out his or her responsibilities, including all dealings with any entities involved in any manner in student financial aid, regardless of whether such entities are involved in a government sponsored, subsidized, or regulated activity.

In doing so, a member of the staff in the Financial Aid Office at Casa Loma College should:

  • Refrain from taking any action for his or her personal benefit.
  • Refrain from taking any action he or she believes is contrary to law, regulation, or the best interests of the students and parents he or she serves.
  • Ensure that the information he or she provides is accurate, unbiased, and does not reflect any preference arising from actual or potential personal gain.
  • Be objective in making decisions and advising his or her institution regarding relationships with any entity involved in any aspect of student financial aid.
  • Refrain from soliciting or accepting anything of other than nominal value from any entity (other than an institution of higher education or a governmental entity such as the U.S. Department of Education) involved in the making, holding, consolidating or processing of any student loans, including anything of value (including reimbursement of expenses) for serving on an advisory body or as part of a training activity of or sponsored by any such entity. As a general guide, and subject to more restrictive laws and policies, a total retail value of not more than $10 should be considered reasonable.
  • Disclose to his or her institution, in such manner as his or her institution may prescribe, any involvement with or interest in any entity involved in any aspect of student financial aid.
  • Neither Casa Loma College as an institution nor any individual officer, employee or agent of the institution may enter into a revenue sharing agreement with any lender.
  • An officer or employee of Casa Loma College who is employed in the Financial Aid Office or who otherwise has responsibilities with respect to education loans, or an agent who has responsibilities with respect to education loans, shall not accept from any lender or affiliate of any lender any fee, payment, or other financial benefit (including the opportunity to purchase stock) as compensation for any type of consulting arrangement or other contract to provide services to a lender or on behalf of a lender relating to education loans.
  • Casa Loma College shall not:
    1. for any first-time borrower, assign, through award packaging or other methods, the borrower’s loan to a particular lender; or
    2. refuse to certify, or delay certification of, any loan based on the borrower’s selection of a particular lender or guaranty agency.
  • Casa Loma College shall not request or accept from any lender any offer of funds to be used for private education loans, including funds for an opportunity pool loan, to students in exchange for the institution providing concessions or promises regarding providing the lender with:
    1. a specified number of loans made, insured, or guaranteed under Title IV;
    2. a specified loan volume of such loans; or
    3. a preferred lender arrangement for such loans.
  • Casa Loma College shall not request or accept from any lender any assistance with call center staffing or financial aid office staffing.This code of conduct is applicable to any member of the Casa Loma College community who, in the course of performing his or her assigned job duties, will make decisions, sign contracts or enter into agreements or relationships that would directly or indirectly impact the Financial Aid Office and violate this code of conduct.

In compliance with the requirements of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (H.R. 4137) as signed into law on August 14, 2008 the above is the Code of Conduct regarding student loans and all other financial aid for the Office of Financial Department at Casa Loma College.

I am currently an active student in the DMS evening program. The instructors, Mr. Dhillon and Dr. Arthur, are fantastic, extremely knowledgeable, and always willing to help their students improve and succeed whether in lab or lecture class. You do learn a lot within the 2 year program and are expected to know all the information in order to pass the exams so expect to make time to study your books and especially (most importantly) learning how to scan! Practice is key!

Aside from the program, the school staff are all very friendly and willing to help out with anything you need! All in all, it's really up to the student to make use of their time here and take advantage of the resources offered at CLC. My youngest brother graduated from Casa Loma College and currently has a great job so I know it's within my reach to succeed in my future career.

I am a recent graduate of Casa Loma's Physical Therapist Assistant Program. The PTA program here is top notch. The faculty and staff really care about you and want you to succeed. I got accepted into 2 PTA programs and I chose this one after having my interview and seeing how passionate they were about Physical Therapy and teaching. I am so glad that I chose this program over the other. You get personalized teaching throughout the program because of the low student to teacher ratio. I felt that this helped me refine my skills to succeed.

The faculty also gets you prepared for your clinical rotations. My Clinical Instructors said that our school did a really good job preparing me for my rotation and that Casa Loma has a good reputation for PTA's. I was able to perform at a high level as a PTA during my rotation thanks to the faculty.

I feel more than ready to succeed as a PTA after my schooling here. I was able to pass my boards on my first try and I was able to get a job immediately after I graduated. I have nothing but great things to say about this program! I absolutely loved it here!!!

I started to inquire from this institution doing my best to get into the PTA program, staff members were very friendly and accomodating. I did my requirements with very little hope because of my finanancial situation, but the administration knew I really wanted to do this and I got accepted as a student after going through all the tests, procedures, and interviews. Financial department did what they can to pull out all the necessary resources for me to approved for student loans, professors are very adept and knowledgeable in their field of expertise as well. After graduating, they worked with the students nonstop through grueling long review classes before taking the boards to ensure students will do exceptionally well.

Long story short, I started with nothing... I graduated, passed my boards, became a licensed profession. I am currently doing Home Health and I couldn't be any happier. I owe my success to each and everyone from this prestigious institution.
