Nanette Leonardo, MSN, NP, RN
Nursing Faculty
Nanette Leonardo has over 30 years of clinical and theory experience and a content expert for Obstetrics and Women’s Health, and over 15 years working in various capacities at the Department of Public Health, Los Angeles County Children’s Medical Services, currently as Nurse Manager and Program Specialist, Public Health Nurse. Professor Leonardo is also a full-time practicing Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in a busy L.A. Outpatient Clinic.
In 2005 Professor Leonardo migrated to the United States after having spent many years as an M.D. practicing OB/GYN. She completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Charles Drew University and is currently finishing p her Doctoral NP Research on Non-Pharmacologic Management of Post-Partum Depression Among Latinas at Brandman University.
Professor Leonardo has taught across various curriculum from the pre-licensure programs to the post-graduate FNP courses at various institutions. Among the other courses I have taught are Basic and Advanced Physical Assessment, Pathophysiology, Fundamentals, Community Nursing and Nursing Theory.
