Janet Nishina, M.S.N., RN
Nursing Program Mentor
Janet Nishina came to Casa Loma College over 20 years ago after being laid off by UCLA as a Clinical Nurse Manager for the Children’s Health Center. The center saw anywhere from 150-350 plus kids a day, in addition to handling the emergent cases. Ms. Nishina has a background working as a Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse for over 20 years – something she truly enjoyed.
“I have to say a big thank you to Casa Loma College for the many years of experiences that have come my way. I have had an opportunity to be an instructor, assistant director, and director of several programs. I have served on curriculum committees, prepared accreditation, and state nursing reports, and was a part of growing programs for the College, including DMS, MRI, and PTA. I participated in the creation and startup of an AND-RN Program over 13 years ago; however, the program never came to fruition due to a put on all new freeze on new programs by the State. The dream finally came true with the start of our RN-BSN program. I am currently an instructor for the MRI Program teaching Patient Care and Management and a Nursing Program Mentor for the RN-BSN Program. I am also an executive officer for the Vocational Nurse Directors of California.”
