Nursing Program Mtyentor
Hailing from New England, Betsy Manchester received her basic nursing education in a 36-month diploma program in Massachusetts (MA). After enjoying a very special working experience at Boston Children’s Hospital, Ms. Manchester had the opportunity to develop and open a new pediatric unit in a MA hospital before moving to California.
She completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioner programs in California and enjoyed a diverse nursing career as Staff RN, Nurse Administrator, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator and Nurse Researcher. Her various roles in nursing education included clinical and full-time faculty and Director/Department Chair in an Associate Degree RN program, and University School Of Nursing Coordinator of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded RN to BSN program. Her clinical focus included pediatrics and adult HIV/AIDS and Hematology/Oncology as an Advanced Practice Nurse and Nurse Researcher. She has been nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner, Oncology Nurse, and Certified Nurse Educator.
Ms. Manchester is committed to student empowerment, equity, equality, social justice, civility, compassion, and collaborative learning with the belief that students will bring those values forward into their nursing practice to support nursing’s future.
Ms. Manchester has been associated with Casa Loma College for more than 10 years in a variety of part-time and full-time roles before joining the expert team in the RN to BSN program. It is Casa Loma’s respect for the intrinsic values of dignity, integrity, and public service that make Casa Loma such a desirable place to work.
