Tell Us About Yourself?
My name is Bahaa Karatahan. I am fifty-five years old. I am married, and I have two kids. I am from Damascus, Syria, and I moved to the United States in 1997 when I was thirty-one years old. I enjoy riding my bicycle every day and cooking is my hobby.

Tell Us About Your Educational Background.
I graduated with a medical degree in September 1990 from University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol de veil Bucharest Romania.

What Areas Within This Field Are of Interest to You? Is There an Area You Are More Focused On?
Understanding human body structures and functions using the advanced technology such as MRI, Ct-scan, Ultrasound, and nuclear medicine to explore our body structures in detail.

What Have Been Your Most Important, Proudest And/or Favorite Experiences in Your Career?
When my graduated students inform me that they passed their board exams on their first attempt and got a job.

What Brought You to Teach at Casa Loma College?
I have been working for Casa Loma College since 2008, the best thing that has happened to me. What keeps me loyal to the College loyal is the big smile on my bosses face on every single morning. I respect all the Directors at the College.

What Is Your Favorite Part of Working with Adult Students?
Adult students are already set on what career they want to pursue; my job is to guide and direct them on that perfect path for their career.

What Attracted You to The Field of Education?
Education is an art; any good educator should possess the required knowledge and be honest and patient with all students. I believe I possess all of the above attributes of a good educator.

Who Has Influenced You the Most in Life?
My parents.

If You Could Have Dinner with One Person, Living or Dead, Who Would It Be?
My wife.

How Do You Like to Spend Your Free Time?
Playing with my kids.

What’s something you want to do that you’ve never done before?
Sky diving (I’m scared to do it !!!!!!)

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited?
Yosemite National Park.

What is your favorite book(s) and why? Your favorite movie?
My favorite book is Beautiful Mind by Sylvia Nasar.
My favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?
“Speech is silver, silence is golden”.
