Graduation Commencement Information

Casa Loma College awards Associate and Associate of Applied Science Degrees and conducts two formal Commencement Ceremonies each year in the Spring and Fall.

Students who have satisfied all academic program requirements and who have met all financial obligations of the College are eligible for graduation and participation in Commencement Ceremonies.

All student financial obligations must be met before certificates, diplomas, degrees, and transcripts are released. Degrees are awarded upon completion of the student’s final course and submission of the Diploma Release Form.

Walkthrough Policy

A student who wishes to attend the Commencement Ceremony in either Spring or Fall, but who will not have completed all degree requirements by that time, must be in good academic standing and have completed at least 60 percent of the clinical component of their program to be eligible for "walkthrough" consideration. Final determination of “walkthrough” is made by the Program Director.

The student must be aware that they must complete all remaining program requirements and financial obligations prior to awarding of degree.

Graduation Honors

Honors are awarded at Graduation and Commencement Ceremonies to students who complete, with distinction, their academic program. Graduation honors are based on the cumulative grade point average (GPA) over the student’s academic enrollment with Casa Loma College. Transfer hours and credit by examination are not used in the computation of honors. Students who have met these criteria will be recognized with honors at the Commencement Ceremonies.

What is Cum Laude: Graduating With Honor means graduating cum laude. Translators define cum laude as With Praise.

What is Magna Cum Laude: The magna cum laude definition is With Great Honor. Scholars define magna cum laude meaning With Great Praise. Usually it means you had the second best grades.
